Please, i have a JScrollPane that has a JComponent in it.
lets assume I want to System.out.println("You just scrolled up") whenever a user draggs the scrollpane up
and vice versa if the user scrolls down
Please i need help on this on how to capture user's scroll up and scroll done event

How about the scroll pane's JScrollBars? It has two of them, so pick the right one.

Instead of storing the previous value and comparing to that (vPos != oldVPos) you can use the getValueIsAdjusting() method of AdjustmentEvent.
