Byte code verification

Hi Friends,

I am currently reading Mark Cade's SCEA Study guide. As per the book, the byte code verification process verifies the Digital signatures. Is that correct?

Also as per the book, data type conversions are NOT checked and controlled. Is that correct? I reckon data type conversions are performed by the byte code verifier.

Please help
