Reloading custom mxml component

Hi all ,

I am new to Flex and enjoying working on it.

I have my outer mxml file say Main.mxml and I have included another mxml file(Navigation.mxml) in it.

Navigation.mxml contains set of buttons(just a boarder containers) on click of which you can do something.

My GUI runs fine. When I make any changes to my custom buttons(like say color change), change is not geting reflected.

My question is about refreshing(reloading) my custom mxml components. How can i achieve this in my current scenario.
After searching on the internet I got few posts where it was said bind your compoenent to a variable.
I dint get clear view.

Can any one give input on this or point me to good link which explains handling custom mxml components

So as of now I made my app working by putting work around.
In my event handler I am chaging the data that is supplied for the component.
I know this is not clean solution.
I will be investigating more deep onmy problem and will post solution here if i get one.
