Alert Guage in httpConnection

Hi Experts,

I want the user wait until getting information from url by httpConnection. so i heard i can do it by alert guage.

My http code

try {
                               HttpConnection hcon = (HttpConnection) Connector.open(DOCUMENT_URL);
				hcon.setRequestMethod(HttpConnection.GET);

				if (hcon.getResponseCode() == HttpConnection.HTTP_OK) {

					int length = (int) hcon.getLength();
					if (length >= 0) {
						byte[] ao = new byte[length];
						DataInputStream din = hcon.openDataInputStream();
						din.readFully(ao);

						frm.append(new String(ao));
						din.close();
                             }

Then i want to do make alert by "Please wait... connecting to the server". I want to do it by Alert Guage.

 gauge = new Gauge( null, false,  Gauge.INDEFINITE, Gauge.CONTINUOUS_RUNNING );
                alert = new Alert("");
               alert.setString( "Please wait... connecting to the server..." );
               alert.setIndicator( _gauge );

I Don't know about how much it will take from the server. and alert timeout.

Please help me to solve this,
