JavaFX: A Beginner's guide prerequisites

I am a newbie Java programmer and am wondering what baseline Java knowledge a person should have before delving into JavaFX.

I'm familiar with the basics of Java (pretty much), have played with applets, and like to build cool user interfaces - although I haven't done one with Java as yet. Still learning.

Right now I'm struggling with RMI.
