british royal wedding

In the US, CNN is marketing the British royal wedding as an event to watch or DVR starting at 4am Eastern. Looks like they recognize many people aren't getting up in the middle of the night to watch. At the same time, it feels kind of like watching a sporting even later. Too much in the news to avoid. At least with a wedding, we know how it ends.

Other thoughts from the US or other countries?

Well, usually. The exceptions are probably much more common in fiction than in real life.

Still, I think the royal wedding could use more drama and suspense. Perhaps if they include the "if anyone here knows any reason these two should not be joined in wedlock" line? Or they could have multiple suitors fight a duel or something beforehand. That could be fun. Heck, they could make a whole reality series out of it: Who Wants To Marry Into The Royal Family?

They have chosen my wedding anniversary to be married; this is a good choice IMO.

I have heard that NBC is cutting back on the wedding coverage because the couple is "too boring". My wife spent about 20 minutes picking shows to record over the next week or so (although she even admits she will not watch all of them....probably).

I remember getting up for Charles and Diana's wedding. I'm sure I'll skip this one, and NOT watch all the coverage.

Mike,
Yeah. But I'm sure the royal wedding is even more planned/scripted than average even in the real world.

Ernest,
Happy almost anniversary!

I do not care about the dynastic activities of the jug-eared inbred Saxe-Coburg and Gotha family. The last two big weddings from that family have not established much positive expectations for this one.

+1
Probably because the groom seems to have prominently inherited the paternal genes.

Folks,

You should attend Indian Marriages to pretty much Equivalent the Royal Wedding

Jeanne, do you mean "how a wedding ends" or "how a marriage ends". A wedding typically ends with a reception and followed by a honeymoon. A marriage ends in various ways. It is like hitting a lotto jackpot to find a "perfect" match. People do not divorce simply accept and live with the mistake they made.

In Oz one of the channels is getting The Chaser team to do the commentary.
While this will increase the number of people viewing (in my opinion), it should be noted that they are the comedy/satire team responsible for stunts such as flying a blimp over the Vatican restricted air space and breaking into an APEC summit dressed as Osama bin Laden.

JiaPei,
I meant how a wedding ends. That's the event being televised that people are getting up in the wee hours to watch. We find out how the marriage goes later.

It now appears that if The Chasers cover the wedding, the BBC will stop sharing their coverage with that network, by request of the Royal family.

The only common thing between the Royal wedding and an Indian wedding is---the wedding suit of Prince Williams was the same as our Band Baja Walas(The orchestra people).
Please Don't Mind. I got a text and i am just re-sharing it.

I found the wedding totally boring and waste of time, just watched for 5 minutes and tend to be sleepy
