Greetings,

I find that because its name is very terse R can be a difficult subject to search.
A language with more searchable name such as 'Erlang' or 'Clojure' may not have the same problem.
Google does give results right away, but I find it difficult looking through forums such as javaranch.com, or stackoverflow.com as another example.
Do you have any suggestions how to make online searches for R information more fruitful.

Regards,

Igor

Hi Igor,

I often find the best results when I put R at the end of the search phrase. For example, in Google you might try phrases like

  • linear models in R
  • creating graphics with R
  • importing data into R
  • embedding R in other applications
  • etc.

  • The R Site Search allows you to search through the R documentation and the extensive R-help mail archives online.
