Is SCEA technically doable in 3 months (with all the lag from Oracle)?
I would need about 3 weeks to prepare for the test, are the other two parts doable in ~2 months?
If you could clear part 1 in 3 weeks then I would say go ahead as you will be able to finish the design of the project in another 3 to 4 weeks and that's it.
It's doable provided you have right skills, experience and working in the right direction.
Just make sure that part 1 and part 3 you complete by 1st Aug 2011 and have done submission of part 2(assignment). In case you fails, you just have to resubmit the part 2 alone-another $300 rather than going thru costly Oracle mandatory Training.

Check the sticky thread in the developer cert forum. That you can resubmit may or may not be the going theory of the moment.
What if I submit Part-2 and appear for part-3 (with assumption that to appear for part 3 I do not require Part-2 result) and I did not get part -2, Part-3 results before August 1st?
This is my understanding and discussed many a times in this forum. Part 2 and Part 3 are evaluated together - they are not separate entities. But Oracle/Sun never ask to re-appear in part 3 even if you fail part 2. So that's why some one came up with the idea to submit something for part 2 - in case you are failed you will be asked for appear for part 2 alone. In this case you will pay another $300 but save on the Oracle Training(min. $1480). With this reasoning i talked about that trick.
