Newbie Spring Question

Hello,

As I said in the subject I'm new to Spring/Spring Batch and had a question regarding Spring Batch. I have an existing Struts based web app that needs to trigger a Spring Batch job. My question is can I deploy the spring batch job as part of my existing struts app or does it need to be deployed as a completely separate application?
