How to Create A Pop-Up Window for Input

I'm currently modifying an existing Applet. I have a requirement where I need to prompt the user for input. I would like to prompt the user with a pop-up for the input. How do you go about this in an Applet? Does the pop-up need to be in another browser window? Any guidance or example would be greatly appreciated.

You do it exactly the same way as in any other Swing program. A JDialog of some kind is the best way. Here's the tutorial: How to Make Dialogs.
