Hello Friends
I am facing this problem in my applet code, I have embedded my applets to JSP pages and when we open the application the browser in windows machine which has JRE 1.6.0_21+ installed , then sometimes the applet GUI gets distorted.
Sometimes (not always) few buttons are not visible and sometimes they look overlapped over each other.
mainly this overlapping problem comes when we scroll over the Applet GUI in the browser.
i have tested on both IE and Mozilla Firefox and problem exists in both.

Hmm, it's difficult to troubleshoot this problem without additional information or relevant source code.
You mentioned a very specific JRE version. Have you conformed that this problem does not occur with older JRE versions?
Could you perhaps try to isolate the relevant code and post an SSCCE that reproduces the problem?

Hi , Even i dont have any clue about the root cause of the problem, But this is sure that this is working fine with older versions of Java because this problem was reported by many clients who are using this application.
Do you have idea about any java update after jdk1.6.0_21 which could cause this problem? As this is an old legacy code so few old java GUI code methods which are deprecated are used in the GUI code May be this can be the cause of problem.

I suspect one of two issues:

  • Using a null layout.

  • OR
  • Graphics drivers aren't updated.
