Create rtf document from a template

I want to create rtf document letters in a given template using java code. The template is uploaeded to web server in rtf,.doc, or .pdf format. I want create the letters to multiple recipients in .rtf format and seave it in a temp location in web server,and can be open in a browser.

This doesn't seem to have anything to do with Struts, so somebody will move it to a more appropriate forum.

There are some significant obstacles in solving what you describe. PDF is just about impossible to change in this way. Word is hard to work with; have a look at the POI or OpenOffice APIs to do that. iText can generate RTF, but I'm not aware of a library that can read, change and write RTFs in general. The AccessingFileFormats wiki page has further links on the subject.
