Hello everyone,

I recently sucessfully completed the SCJP so I thought that I proceed straight ahead and take on the SCJD aswell. As we know, the SCJD consists of two parts, the assignment (310-252A) and the exam (310-027). However after I registered on the site where you can download the assignment (https://ibt.prometric.com/oracle), I only see the following tests:

http://imageshack.us/f/39/scjd.png/

Since this is my first attempt, I guess I cannot take the Resubmission (310-252R), which leaves me abit puzzled because 310-252A is not available.

Does anyone know if you are supposed to take 310-252R instead of 310-252A or if there's something wrong with the site?

Thanks.

Hi Tom,

Congratulations with passing SCJP

I see 2 possible causes for your issue:
a) you just passed SCJP certification and the different certification databases (oracle and prometric) are not sync'ed yet, so they don't know you are already are a SCJP.
b) something is indeed wrong with the website, maybe already related to the new test delivery partner Oracle has chosen (see sticky post in this forum)

In either case I would send an e-mail to suncert_ww@oracle.com and ask for some clarification (don't forget to mention your prometric id)

Kind regards,
Roel

Hi,

I am in the same situation, recently finished the OCPJP and want to take the SCJD. The assignment option is no longer there. Last week it was there with a cost of 125$. I have sent an email to know how can I register. Lets hope this is just a temporary situation.

Regards.

Thank you. I already sent an email to that adress but alas oracle seems to be pretty slow when it comes to a response.

Let's hope they resolve this issue in the - not so distant - future, seeing as the requirements for the SCDJ change on 1. August.

I believe they normally answer the questions within 3-5 business days. That email address is the single point of contact for all certification questions, so I guess they get a lot of e-mails each day

I have got a response from them today:

Hi Joao,

Thanks for bringing this to our notice. We are working on this with Prometric and we will revert in 2-3 working days.

Regards,
OCP Team

I have the same problem, I tried to register and download the assignment last night.
So far I have contacted: ip.helpdesk@prometric.com, who2contact@central.sun.com, suncert@prometric.com, and no replies yet.

Maybe you should try to use the correct email address... that's suncert_ww@oracle.com

The problem appears to be solved. As you can see in the screenshot 310-252A now appears in my list of choices.

I also just went through the process of purchasing the SCJD assignment, and have attached a similar screenshot which highlights what I have just paid for.

However I was a bit surprised to see the assignment was priced at $125. I thought the price was $300 / £202? (The same as an Oracle Java exam).

Especially when you see that the re-submission project shown in the screenshot is priced at $300.

PS: I also got the URLyBird assignment. I wonder if that is coincidence or perhaps it is the only one they are issuing to candidates just now...

$125 is a bargain for this assignment
