Reading Writing Files

Lately I’ve been trying to read an XML, CSV files for my Android app dev needs. But it seems I need to understand a lot regarding file reading, writing.

I can easily achieve my goals by copying some code segment from internet but it doesn’t give me the pleasure. Its more like I’m running on back of someone else.

Could you please provide me some links where I can read about NODES, DOCS, I/O ect. If you can please guide me to some tutorials where I can learn the concepts.

Thanks in advance.

Here's Oracle's tutorial about I/O: Lesson: Basic I/O (Note that the part about "NIO.2" is about new features in Java 7, which is not yet released - for a basic understanding, skip that part for now).

If you want to work with XML and understand what the structure of XML is, what nodes are etc., then search for a tutorial about Java and XML. w3schools.com has some good tutorials about XML and related technologies (but not specifically about Java).

The Java EE 1.4 Tutorial has a few chapters about Java and XML; especially have a look at chapter 2, "Understanding XML" and chapters 4, 5 and 6 about JAXP, SAX and DOM.
