hi,

i am facing the following issue when i start my WAS 6.1 server

There is a problem with classpath - the Log4jInit class is not visible to WAS classloader.

What changes have you done to WAS 6.1 install? Typically WAS comes bundled with a way to handle/redirect all log4j calls to SystemOut.log. I have seen this with both WAS 6.1.x and WAS 7.0.x.
 
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
