Hi,
I'm trying to discover why do we specify URL pattern as *.do mostly. can we specify it something else say *.did or *.abc. who chops off ".do" from the URI before searching the action in struts-config.xml. i'm learning struts so this may be a trivial question for you people but i'm bit curious to know about it.

hi Arooon

We can have anything after *., but we should configure same as the url pattern in web.xml.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
