Guys,

I have a strange error when I shutdown my Tomcat instance:

I guess it has got to do with Log4j. How can I bettwr avoid this?

I don't think this is directly due to Log4j. Log4J normally wouldn't spawn threads. I think you'll need to dig deeper.

Customer surveys are for companies who didn't pay proper attention to begin with.

But the message above shows that a ThreadLocal of type org.apache.log4j.helpers.ThreadLocalMap was created and this is from the Log4j API?

Don't ask me! Like I said, it requires some more digging. But log4j is essentially a linear, synchronous process. Unless you're using some sort of channel that queues and forwards log messages or something.

Would it be a good idea to completely ignore this message as it seems to happen only during shutdown and startup intervals.

I agree. Here's the link: http://aspose.com/file-tools
