Hi, Hama Kamal
Welcome to Java Ranch,

Q. which book should One use for OCJP preparation[/b]??
My Suggestion : You are right. "Sun Certified Programmer for java 6 study guide SCJP by Kathy Sieria and Bert Bates. Understand Each and Every Word of this Book, then Moves to Mock Tests and Ask you Queries or Doubts.

Q. Is it Good?
My Ans : YES

Q. If so how long does it take to finish it?
My Ans : Depends on your Effort, Efficiency and regularity.

Q. what is the correct exam number ? 1Z0851 or CX-310-065
Truth : 1Z0-851.

Q. Does it mean that the exam structure and questions have been changed as well or still the same?
My Ans : I am not sure about this. Keep stay with Java Ranch.....

Hi,

I am also planning to apply for this Certification (i.e Exam 1Z0-851) and I have question regarding exam centers - is there any exam centers here in Gujarat (India)?

Any help or pointer on this will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

I took the 1Z-851 exam on 21 oct ,2011. Even if you have old but not expired SCJP voucher you can face oracles exam and have to take it via pearsonvue (it was prometic ). There are 61 questions and Passing score is 61% (you have to answer 36 questions correctly at least). 2.5 hours for exam.In my exam I didn't get a single drag and drop question.

Note: STUDY FIRST 5 SECTIONS IN Kathy Sierra's SCJP BOOK VERY CAREFULLY.

You might want to go for the upcoming JAVA 7 version , which is open for beta. You can save some money and be current on the tech front at the same time
