Hey there,

I did my scwcd a while back, and have completed a full-blown project since then.
Now, I am thinking to do a new certification.
But , since I work on hibernate, I don't think there lies benefit in learning EJB and doing SCBCD.
If there are other certifications that I can, do let me know. Thanks in advance!

It's the belief in the power of your dreams that counts! (SCJP 5.0, SCWCD 5.0)

It depends on what would you like to do in you career in the future and what you are interested in learning. If you know hibernate well, then JPA part of the OCPJBCD exam would be much easier for you anyway. And there is Enterprise Architect exam if you are interested in JEE.

I know what EJB is, the problem is I don't understand what are web services? And how can they help me in my future track!

It is one of the most important technologies in the industry especially regards to the interoperability. Simply put, you expose your business logic to out side which then can be used by others independent of the the platform/programming language etc...
I know it's not possible to give an introduction to WS in one post. But I suggest you to read bunch of articles available about the subject in places like IBM or even the introduction in the JEE tutorial.
