Hello everybody here. My name is Andrew. I am taking a beginning Java class, and this place was recommmended to me as a good resource.
So I thought I would introduce myself: HI.
So far so good, I have Java up and running on Ubuntu Linux, and I successfully compiled my "Hello World" program. It is definitely weird that a program compiled on linux should be able to work on Windows... My wife doesn't see what the big deal is about that, but believe you me, I have had my struggles with linux - and I appreciate this cross-compatibility.

Don't worry about your wife not getting it. She'll appreciate it once you developped the NewBigAppThatNobodyCanLiveWithout.
Cheers,
Wim
