I'm getting almost to the point where I'll be doing servlet work in the cattle drive, and I've been doing my development work on macs. From what I have been reading in other forums, Orion setup on the mac is a little iffy, whereas Tomcat comes with all the j2ee classes and classpath mods you need, right "out of the box". Is there any reason I need to stick with Orion for the cattle drive work? What did you other mac-folks do? Thanks in advance --Steven Lacher

Hi Steven, I can't answer your question about the Cattle Drive requirements, but just wanted to corroborate that Tomcat setup on OS X is indeed as easy as unpacking the tar file, making sure JAVA_HOME points to the right place, and running the startup shell script. Either Orion or Tomcat may be used. If you search on tomcat in this forum, you'll find discussions of this orion/tomcat/mac topic.
