Mine has been in grading for 7 weeks now.
Hi Jari,
We need to inform you that there has been a recent delay in the grading of assignments. This delay could add 2-3 weeks to the grading time. We apologize for this delay and are working diligently to shorten the wait time as much as possible. Thank you for your patience.
Regards,

This is disconcerting. Is this after part3. Do we have to wait for part 2 grading before we book part3. If there are any delays how are we gonna finish it by part3.

This is very worrying indeed. I submitted my assignment on 31st May, it was sent for grading on 3rd June and I had an email saying it would take 6-8 weeks so the latest I get it back should be 22nd July, giving me just over a week to resubmit if I fail. If they delay this by 2-3 weeks then I'm royally screwed if I fail! Will they extend the deadline in this scenario? I'm not holding my breath!

Indeed, this is scaring me too, at 27May i got an email confirming that my assignement and essay exam has been sent for grading, and that i have to wait 6 to 8 weeks, expecting the result in 20 July.
The fact is, i'm giving myself big chance to fail, i hope they can honor the fixed delay, otherwise if i fail and didn't got the result at time, the SCEA exam will be like a fish bone stuck in my throat for life .
Good luck everybody,

I have mailed them asking if the deadline will be extended in this case as the delay is on their side....I'm not expecting a favourable answer

But Oracle says too many different and confusing things about the same matter...
You should submit your assignment, allowing four weeks for grading

Hey guys? Why don't we make an online petition? It's not a courtesy from them to grade the assignments in time but the whole certification program is a paid service. What Oracle does is very unethical and unfair. There are also problems with the submission of the Java SE Developer assignment. There is a huge mess in this company. I'm not native English but if someone with good communication skills wrote a petition asking a chnage in this course requirement policy (e.g. to allow one resubmission without applying course requirement or defer the change etc.), justified by these problems and the unfair behavior of the company, I would sign it.

Hi Jari, sorry to bother, i have a questions:
* How much time after submitting the second part you were allowed to schedule for the essay exam?
i have just taken and passed the first part today and i've just downloaded my assignment,
my problem is in evaluating my deadline for submitting the assignment so that i can take the essay exam before August 1st.
thanks for your time, i hope you'll pass the exam without any need to retake it.

As has been discussed many times, your part 2 assignment will not be graded until they have both your part 2 assignment, and the answers to your part 3 essay questions.
I believe that the rules have changed slightly, in that you now need to get an acknowledgement that your part 2 submission has been received and is readable before you can take the part 3 essay exam. Even with this change, though, the overall concept still applies: grading will not take place until you have completed part 3.

I took part 3 of the exam 3 April and submitted my assignment 4 April. My submission was sent to grading 14 April.

Mine is in grading for 8 weeks now. One month ago the OCP Team replied me telling that 2-3 weeks were added to the original 4-6 weeks grading time. Yesterday I got an email saying that "We understand your situation and assure you that we are diligently working on this."
It seems that it's going to take a while :S
