Am writing about Sun Certified Java Developer 1.5 certification!

just last week, i found this exam on Oracle/Sun website and was preparing to register for it.

I am java 1.4 programmer certified but i haven't been around java for some time now!

Could anyone please let me know if the Java 1.5 Developer cetification exam is discontinued by Oracle ?

i just bought a Java developer SE 5 certification book and don't know how i can use this same book for Java 1.6 developer certification !

i cant even find Java 1.6 developer book.

please help solve my dilema.

Thanks

Relax
The exam is 1.6 now. However, that doesn't make a big difference with 1.5. The assignments have not changed.
The language has some additional classes and optimizations compared to 1.5.

This does NOT make your book worthless. The concepts have not changed, so there's no problem

Hi Isaac,

Indeed there is no problem. Even with an SCJD book about Java 1.4 you can pass the certification, because this certification is mainly about concepts and designs rather than about language semantics. But you need of course use the latest JDK version and proof you know it, so use generics and enhanced for loops for example

Kind regards,
Roel
