In the following code i get jsp writer cannot be resolved to a type..kindly help me

That's because you didn't import it (at the top of the code, with all those other import statements).

You should import JspWriter, of course. From whatever package it's in... I haven't ever written Java code which takes a JspWriter as a parameter and writes HTML to it, and I never will, so I don't have any examples available. However if you do a web search for the term "jspwriter" using Google or whatever search engine you prefer, I predict that the first link will tell you what package it's in.

Or you could just click the link to the java API created whenever you write JspWriter in your message.

Now THATS a cool forum feature.
