newbie: displaytag and Java

I am taking over some code and I want to set the background color of the rows of a table according to a value in one of the columns. I know I need to add a function called addRowClass to the TableDecorator, but I am not sure how to get the values in each of the columns for that row and then set the row color using Java. Any help is appreciated.
