Recently, i uninstall my tomcat4.1.30 from my development pc and trying to install the tomcat7.
I get the follwing error message during installation:
Failed to install Tomcat7 service.
Check your settings and permissions.
Ignore and continue anyway (not recommended)?

I try the solution in other forum like using "sc delete tomcat4" and remove some registry entry, but still come back to the same message everytime i install tomcat 7.
Can anyone help me?

Welcome to the Ranch, Lee Kean Hoo!

There might be a possibility that you uninstall it by just deleting a directory etc... other than the recommended approach for your OS. So in that case there might be some files left over. You may need to search further and see whether you have missed any global configuration files in the OS level.

I have the same problem installing Tomcat 7 like a service. I was "googling" to resolve the problem but couldn`t. Somebody can help me?

The problem i have is "Failed to install tomcat7 service. Check your settings and permissions" with 3 options, Abort, Retry, Ignore.

I have administrator permissions
I removed all service of old tomcat 5.5 and use regedit to removed all I found of apache tomcat.
Checked Environment Variables page and I have C:\WINNT\TEMP for TEMP and TMP.
I tested the option of service.bat install (Error with the kernel32.dll)

How can I solve this problem?? I`m using tomcat 7 v32, jdk 1.6, Windows 2000 Service Pack 4
