problem with converting text file extension to jsp extension

Hey everyone, How are things going with you all ? I'm facing a naive problem, I just can't convert text file to jsp file, when i change the extension to .jsp, nothing doing, the text file extension does not change, though it works just fine in the lab, please help, i can't put my fingers on the problem , thank you .

Moved to General Computing. Renaming files is a operating system issue.
I'm guessing Windows, and that you have file types hidden?
