Using CATALINA_HOME: /usr/share/tomcat5
Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: /usr/share/tomcat5/temp
Using JRE_HOME: /usr/java/latest/bin/
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina

Any thoughts on what to try?

What is your platform? CentOS? SuSE? Ubuntu?
Where does your tomcat belong to? Downloaded from tomcat's official site?
