Java rotating image (AffineTransform) image getting cut off at parts?

I am trying to rotate an image using the affinetransform awt.geom tool, however if any part is rotated, the parts that should be shown above, or to the left of the previous un-rotated image are not shown. Heres two images describing my problem:

Picture 1, before the rotation. All is well:

Next, picture 2. AFTER the rotation. The top is cut off:

The same that happened to the top in picture 2 would happen if I were to rotate it to where part of the image would stick out to the left.
