Java rotating image (AffineTransform) image getting cut off at parts?

I am trying to rotate an
using the affinetransform awt.geom tool, however if any part is rotated, the parts that should be shown above, or to the left of the previous un-rotated image are not shown. Heres two images describing my problem:
Picture 1, before the rotation. All is well:
Next, picture 2. AFTER the rotation. The top is cut off:
The same that happened to the top in picture 2 would happen if I were to rotate it to where part of the image would stick out to the left.
