I want to use a Message Driven Bean fired by the quartz scheduler.

I have used this annotation on the message driven bean.

activationConfig = {
@ActivationConfigProperty( propertyName = "cronTrigger",
propertyValue = "0 30 15 * * ?"

Can I configure this to run from properties set in a config file.

I am using JBoss 5.1.0

What kind of properties? The cron schedule? You can set those activation properties in the ejb-jar.xml. Take a look at the ejb-jar 3.0 xsd which has the details on how to set this. Feel free to ask related questions, if you have any.
