Doubt Regarding Web.xml

Suppose i am working on some bigger application involving thousands of servlets. Do i need to write each of these in the Deployment Descriptor file(Web.xml)??

That's one option. The other is to use an annotation in the servlet itself (if you are on a recent version of JEE.)
