This week's book giveaway is in the OO, Patterns, UML and Refactoring forum. We're giving away four copies of Refactoring for Software Design Smells: Managing Technical Debt and have Girish Suryanarayana, Ganesh Samarthyam & Tushar Sharma on-line! See this thread for details.
Having finished OOP-4 it's time for me to figure out what I did a year ago when I first did the servlets exercises. Unfortunately in the meantime my hard drive got blown away, and somehow I failed to back up my Orion directory, so I'll be rewriting the servlets. <sigh> That also means I have to reinstall Orion, not a big deal, but when I went to orionserver.com, they only have "stable binary" 2.0.2 and "latest binary" 2.0.3. The Cattle Drive instructions speak of downloading 2.0.5. [It sounds like the Orion folks have bigger troubles than my lost hard drive.] Shall I go ahead with 2.0.3?
Beyond that, Java EE got blown away too. My problem there is that I have a project that requires JDK 1.5 and will not work with JDK 1.6. When I go to the Oracle site I only see Java EE 6, and I don't know if that's compatible with JDK 1.5.

I downloaded glassfish - which came with javaee 6. There was only one problem that I encountered that was related to moving the javaee.jar from the glassfish\lib to the java\bee\lib\production which is found in the section on deployment using ANT.
Jaikiran Pai helped me with a solution to for this problem, which is found here.

Thanks Richard. I'll try that. Glassfish knows that I'm using the 1.5.12 JDK so that's promising. [I thought I had reinstalled Glassfish but it turns out I had restored it from the backup . . . and all of the directories were there, but empty.
