Heirarchy in SWING

Hi,

I want to create a hierarchy structure of, suppose, a manager/subordinate relation. Its a n-ary tree.

I have the database table ready that gives me the hierarchy data, I just want to put it on the GUI in the form of a tree/hierarchy.
I am aware of the JTree type available with the Swing, but I dont want to use it. I want the structure to have rich UI (like RIA)

Please suggest me to choose the right things/options that suit my requirements.

Thanks,
Harsha

RIA, by definition, are web applications which try to look and behave like desktop/stand alone applications. JTree is a stand alone application component.
If you are not happy with the way your JTree looks, you can tweak it using renderers.
More on renderers here http://download.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/components/tree.html#display
