SCEA Part 2 Assignment around 1 year old would it be still valid

Hi All,
I had purchased SCEA Part 2(JEE 5) assignment around 1 year back to be precise in Aug 2010. But due to work pressure etc I was not able to do it. Now I am planning to complete the assignment by Aug 2011 End and submit to Oracle.
My major concern will Oracle accept my assignment which is around 1 year old ?
Appreciate your help !!

...candidates who purchased their assignments on our after June 1, 2011 have 6 months to complete the assignment and submit the essay from the date of assignment purchase. However, candidates who purchased their assignments before June 1, 2011 will have 12 months to complete and submit the assignment...

The 12 month time limit has expired before I finished the part 2 project. Does anyone know what I can do at this point? Can I purchase another part 2 assignment and start over? Would I have to take the part 1 exam and start from the beginning?
I was working on the assignment to try to complete before the October 1st deadline. I'm ~30% done. I had mistakenly thought that we had unlimited time for the project like the SCJD certification I've already completed.
Help!!!
