i would like to ask how i could assign the value of
a bean write tag to a
named for example lastName in my jsp page.
<% String lastName=> <bean:write name="myUser" property="lastname"></bean:write> <%; %>

The bean:write you have listed it looking for a
bean called myUser, and is going to call the mething getlastname().

You need to use bean : define and bean : write tags.
<bean:define id="userName" scope="request"> <bean:write name="userInfo" property="userName"/> </bean:define> ... <%= userName %>
