"If your goal is to get all the certificates complete in as short a total elapsed time as possible, then you should be aware that there is a delay between when you complete the SCJD assignment and when you get the results (Sun say it can be up to 6 weeks from when you submit your assignment / sit the exam to when you get the results - we have seen shorter and longer timeframes). So you might want to do the SCJD first, and then do SCWCD while waiting for the results of SCJD. "

-.- my assignment is due on september 15th

does that mean I would fail since even if I submit my assignment now, i won't be able to get back the result and complete the exam before september 15th.

moreover Oracle has not get back to me about the voucher issue. damn it!

You have to submit your assignment and take the essay exam before September 15. If you don't, you won't fail but you'll have to pay for a new voucher.

Where does the 15 September come from? This thread here says you need to have all parts completed by 1st October.

I assumed this from the line "my assignment is due on september 15th " in the OP, so I would think his voucher (time limit) expires on 15 September. I could be wrong, but that's how I interpreted his post.

Ah, I didn't realise the vouchers had a deadline on them. This would be the voucher used to get the assignment? Rather than the one to do the exam?

No idea how they do it but the official page of the certification says you must have submitted both parts within 6 months (used to be 1 year) after purchase of the assignment purchase.

"The deadline change does not affect candidates who purchased their assignments prior to June 1, these remain a 1-year deadline. "...phew, that's me covered !

"When you have completed your assignment and your essay exam, you may submit your assignment
to developer-submit_US@oracle.com. Your submission may be made by email. Make sure to include
you Prometric ID when you make your submission. You have one year to complete your assignment
and your essay. Assessors will take 4-6 weeks to grade our assignment and return results to you. "

So doesn't that mean if I register on September 15th 2010.. I will have to complete it on September 15th 2011

anyway I guess they extended the deadline.. Thank God but sadly I am still unable to get the replacement voucher from oracle university. I have been emailing them but their replies are always shifty and requesting more information.

Indeed, but not anymore through e-mail, but submitting through Pearson VUE's website.

You are not the only one, but keep carrying on sending mails and telling same story over and over again. They all got a new voucher, but it takes a few mails
