Welcome to the JavaRanch, Neha!

This isn't a good place to look for help "ASAP", since the downside of free is that operators aren't standing by to help. We log in when we can and don't spend all day here.

To run JSF on Linux, you first have to install a webapp server. The server can be Apache Tomcat, one of the commercial webapp servers like WebLogic or WebSphere, or an open-source webapp server such as JBoss or JonAS.

Depending on the server (and server version), JSF may be built into the appserver, or you may have to include JSF implementation jars as part of your WAR. Pretty much all of the details on running JSF depend on the appserver you're using, so you need to select one and read its installation instructions for Linux, since each appserver has its own individual requirements and installation procedures.

Customer surveys are for companies who didn't pay proper attention to begin with.

Hi,
Sorry for ASAP.

Thanks for your reply.
I am trying to use Tomcat Apache 7.0.19.
First of all tomcat server itself is not running it gives errors as follows:
/usr/bin/build-classpath: error: Could not find mx4j/mx4j-impl Java extension for this JVM
/usr/bin/build-classpath: error: Some specified jars were not found
/usr/bin/build-classpath: error: Could not find mx4j/mx4j-jmx Java extension for this JVM
/usr/bin/build-classpath: error: Some specified jars were not found
Using CATALINA_BASE: /home/jainpa/NehaDiwakar/apache-tomcat-7.0.16
Using CATALINA_HOME: /home/jainpa/NehaDiwakar/apache-tomcat-7.0.16
Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: /home/jainpa/NehaDiwakar/apache-tomcat-7.0.16/temp
Using JRE_HOME:
touch: cannot touch `/home/jainpa/NehaDiwakar/apache-tomcat-7.0.16/logs/catalina.out': Permission denied
/usr/bin/dtomcat5: line 340: /var/run/tomcat5.pid: Permission denied
/usr/bin/dtomcat5: line 331: /home/jainpa/NehaDiwakar/apache-tomcat-7.0.16/logs/catalina.out: Permission denied

Please suggest how to resolve this.

Neha
