Yesterday I cleared SCWCD/OCPJWCD 5 with 98%. Thanks a lot to HFSJ and
all the ranchers here. It took a long gap of 18+ months since my SCJD,
may be due to not finding enough time for studies.

I read whole HFSJ for at least twice in two stages. Initially started with slow cramming
and in the final stages accelerated a bit. Even though I have Core and Web side experience,
Its the first time I am coming across these many insidious details about Servlets and JSP.

I worked out mock exams at the end of chapters. Used Eclipse and Tomcat for trying out
examples.

The Real Exam was not too difficult . Obviously I have missed
couple of questions. My scorecard says 43/43, not sure how it maps 98% .

So whats next ? I am taking a break for next few months

Congrats! I am planning to give SCWCD 1z0-858 exam in october. I want to know whether CX 310-083 dumps and 1z0-858 dumps are same? All questions came from dumps?

What do you mean with dumps? Are this dumps of real exams? Are you preparing for an exam by memorizing questions and answers?

Frits

I will be taking the 1z0 - 858.

Can some one help answer the following: (this may seem silly, but just would like to know the correct answer rather than going to the exam in an outdated assumption)

1. how many questions
2. how many question do i need to get correct to pass
3. what is the passing score
4. is there any negative scoring
5. are there any partial scoring
6. what is the duration of the exam
7. Will I be given any scratch paper/pencil do rough work the questions
8. if yes for no.7, can i ask for more paper/pencil if i need it?
9. can I bring my own pen/pencil for the exam room

I think that the answer is NO. I can't say from my experience but since the exam is offered by Pearson VUE I think that drag & drop questions were removed from this exam.

Sorry for the delayed reply, was in a hectic office assignment for last weeks.

@Veena : HFSJ suggests a text editor for the coding, book says
  • "You do not need any other development tool, such as an Integrated Development
Environment (IDE). We strongly recommend that you not use anything but a
basic editor until you complete this book."
  • Compile the servlet using Javac with servlet-api.jar in classpath
  • Copy the class-files & web.xml to webapp's WEB-INF directory in tomcat.

  • Anyhow I used Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers Indigo, at later stages for quick test runs.

@Gj Joshi : May be your question is answered well by Frits and mohitkumar.
@auvrm : Stoian mostly answered all, I may add

    9) can I bring my own pen/pencil for the exam room

    - My center said no.

    10) Are there any drag and drop questions on the 1z0 - 858 exam?

    – I had no dNd questions.

One more thing I noticed, some of the questions will be non-scoring, but we never know which all ...

    Hi Gj Joshi,

Its very wrong to consult Dumps and get certified .
If you get certified that way , then the whole point certification stands null and void .
Do you want to gain knowledge or certification ?
Study hard and do mocks as much as you can.
    That will be enough.

    Thanks
    Dhiru

    Hello Naveen,

Congratulations. I seek help and advise who ever has given OCPJWCD and passed it with good score (Including you)

    1. I had passed SCJP1.4 in 2008 year. Can I directly give OCPJWCD 5.0 ?

    2. My current goal is to get certification quickly and I have practical working knowledge of JSP and Servlets. Still I wish to read , learn and give exam.

    3. I seek strong study material reading. Can you give reference to free PDF as well as commercial study material?

Looking for a favorable and quick help!
