Hi All,

I took the Part 3 Essay today, and I uploaded the Assignment 2 days back. The Essay part was easy since all the questions asked were related to the Assignment and the proposed solution in the Assignment.

Please let me know if there is a website to track the status of the Assignment and the Essay exam. Or, should I wait for the mail notificaitons from Pearson? Pelase advise.

Thanks
Inr

Hi Inr,
you can track your score (Pass/Fail) at http://certview.oracle.com; once there, go through the "Sign in" button and log in.
Once logged in click on the "Certification Status" tab!

Anyway I would wait at least 10 days... but I would effectively check every day in the morning and before going to sleep! ;)

Good luck,
ciao,
Luigi

the Cert Manager only shows exams you have passed, I submitted part 2 and took part 3 on 31st May and my Cert Manager only shows my part 1 status.

You can email architect-submit_US@oracle.com and they should be able to advise you on when your assignment is sent for grading, they usually reply in a day or two.

Good luck!

Let us see if I can get the status by this month end, so that In case if I fail, I can take the exam once again...

Thanks

Friends,
A question from me as well.
About to give part 3 .
I have uploaded my assignment on https://www6.pearsonvue.com/oracle/
and also emailed to architect-submit_US@oracle.com but havent received any acknowledgement.

I was able to book for part 3 from https://www6.pearsonvue.com/oracle/.

Can you please let me know if I have done the right thing and where can I get the status that my assignment submission is received from them.

Thanks in advance.

and also emailed to architect-submit_US@oracle.com

If you have uploaded through pearson, then why should you mail it again and expect a response?

I had uploaded my assignment and booked for part III and gave part III two weeks back. I have a clear status in pearson that the exam is taken and had to wait for evaluation.

Hi All,

I got the below reply from Oracle, it says that it will take 6-8 weeks for grading.

"Hi Ayyanar,

Please note that your assignment and essay exam have been sent to our assessors for grading. The scoring process may take up to 6-8 weeks depending on submission volume.
Once your assignment score is returned, we will contact you with the results.

Regards,
OCP Team"

Thanks Inr

I have completed part 3 on July 13th and still waiting for the results. It says status as "Taken".

Looks like Oracle must have received more than usual volume because of the new process from October.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

I got the below message today from Oracle:

"Dear Ayyanar,

This email is to inform you that there has been a delay in grading assignments and essays. At this time, you may have been awaiting your results for more than four weeks. Please know that we are working diligently with the grading team to clear the backlog as quickly as possible. A bigger concern for you is probably the upcoming training requirement for your Java Master certification. We can assure you that should you receive a failing grade on your assignment, we will allow you time to resubmit and become certified should you pass, without completing the training requirement even if you receive your grade after the September 30 deadline. The exceptions outlined below will be allowed.

Candidate submits Assignment and Essay (and has completed any other required exams) by August 27, 2011 and receives a passing grade after September 30, 2011
This candidate will receive the certification without completing the training requirement

Candidate submits Assignment and Essay (and has completed any other required exams) by August 27, 2011 and receives a failing grade after September 30, 2011
This candidate will be given the opportunity to resubmit the assignment and essay within a prescribed time period. Should the candidate pass on the second attempt, he will receive the certification without completing the training requirement. Should he fail on the 2nd attempt, training will be required for certification based on subsequent attempts.

Thanks,
Oracle Certification Team"

When I had SCJD there was no email telling you the assignment went for grading but directly an email with the result(but it was still on Prometric times).
Now, given the fact that on the exam summary is written "During this time your
exam status will remain as pending.", what I am wondering is why is the status "taken" and not "pending", actually for all of the three parts, even though I remember, but I am not sure, for the first part it, first, turned into "passed".
Are you all in the same situation?

Yes, I submitted six/seven weeks ago, and still in grading process.

I mailed the Oracle team yesterday and got the same response:

Hi All,

I took the Part 3 Essay (1Z0-866) on 20-JUN-11 (more than 12 weeks ago). I’m still waiting for my marks from Oracle. I wrote several e-mails to the OCP Team. But I always got excuses and empty promise in response.

Has anyone taken his essay later than me and has already received his OCMJEA certificate?

Thanks
Hugo

I took Part 3 on 18-JUN-2011 and still waiting for results, I did get response stating it will take additional 3-4 weeks...and when checked with Oracle why is this such a long delay...their response is below....

We completely understand your situation and we apologize for all the inconvenience caused.

Our migration from Prometric to Pearson Vue caused this delay. In case if you require to resubmit the assignment, as an exception we will be give you the opportunity to resubmit the assignment without the new course requirement.

Regards,
OCP Team

Hello everybody,

I appeared for part 3 on June 17th and I'm, as well, still waiting for the result. I also emailed Oracle and posted some SR into their system but still nothing. The frustrating part is that I've posted one more SR asking about the status of my exam and I received an email saying that the SR was updated and a link to go see the update. The link seem to work only for the Oracle employees so I posted a question on the forum asking the Oracle people how can I see what the update was. The answer I've received was referring to the email everybody received, the one announcing that they are experiencing some delay in exams evaluation but no real clarification. What can I say? I'm really disappointed that a company as huge as Oracle cannot foresee the consequences of their decision regarding the exam policy. My employer is paying for my certification and he is constantly asking about the result but I have no more answers, I have nothing from Oracle than the generic email regarding the delay in evaluation.

Hi All,

Today I received the below mail from Oracle:

Dear Ayyanar,

Due to high volumes and technical resource constraints, the delay in getting assignments graded has been extended. We sincerely apologize for this delay.

We understand that for some candidates, the delay has been excessive. Please know that we are working diligently to get these assignments graded and get your results back to you as quickly as possible. We realize that there is concern about the upcoming training requirement for the Java Enterprise Architect and Java Developer certifications and how it will affect candidates who have already submitted assignments but have not yet received their scores. Will these candidates be required to complete training? The answer is no in most cases. Please review the scenarios below to find out if you will be required to complete training. If you have any additional questions, please contact suncert_ww@oracle.com.

If you are notified of a passing score on your assignment and essay after September 30, 2011, you will receive your certification without being required to complete training if the conditions below have been met:
• submitted your assignment and completed your essay by September 30, 2011
• passed the Java EE 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Exam by September 30, 2011 (for OCMJEA candidates only)
**Candidates who do not submit all requirements on or before September 30, 2011 will be required to complete training in order to become certified.

If you are notified of a failing score on your assignment and essay after September 30, 2011, you will have the opportunity to receive your certification without being required to complete training if the conditions below have been met:
• submitted your assignment and completed your essay by August 27, 2011
• passed the Java EE 5 Enterprise Architect Certified Master Exam by September 30, 2011 (for OCMJEA candidates only)
• resubmit the assignment within 30 days of receiving your failing score
• pass the 2nd attempt

**Candidates who did not submit both assignment and essay by August 27, 2011 will not be considered for this exception. This policy was outlined in the announcement posted on the Oracle Certification website.”
Regards,
Oracle Certification Program

Compared your email with mine from Oracle, yours is a much more detailed one. In my email reply, Oracle only asked me to patiently wait for 2 months.
