Hello all...

I have a requirement that when the server is down I should display the custom error screen..

Any ideas ..?

My idea would be to clarify the requirements.

For example, would you be expecting the server which is down to be displaying this error page? Or is it going to be shown when some other server is down?

and Sorry for the bad question. Actually I am new to java.

My requirement is that, when my appserver goes down how should I display custom error screen.. what would be the procedure..

If the server is down, you obviously can't show anything. What most of my clients do when there's a planned outage is to route the requests to another server (usually a static Apache server) that shows a "We'll be back soon" page.

It has nothing at all to do with Java or servlets. Just server administration.
