Weird exception when running 2 apps on Tomcat behind Apache

Ok,

Here we go again... so I have two web apps running on Tomcat 7 behind Apache, both accessed via mod_proxy in the httpd.conf, using Mojarra 2.0.6 and Weld for CDI for both ..
Each of them runs just ok ... but ..
Lets assume app1 is already deployed and works like a charm.. now when I deploy another one app2 things don't look quite that sweet anymore ..
the moment the app2 is deployed , when I go back to the website that runs app1, the one that had already been deployed earlier on, upon
sending of any request I'm getting this :

And the same thing would happen the other way round (that is if the app2 had been deployed first and app1 later then the app2 would throw the same stack.

From the looks of things it looks to me like Weld's issue .. but to be completely frank a have absolutely no idea how to go about solving it and neither have been able to find any really relevant solution to this online ...

All thought and help will be greatly appreciated,

Glen

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
