Certification Preparation Material

Hi Ranchers!

I want to start preparing for this certification as soon as i pass OCPJP exam, which I have scheduled for 26 Aug. (...and I am confident that i will pass it!!)

But it seems that there is not much material available for new web component certification exam. So should I go directly for specifications and read
them as a base preparation.
I had read HFS&J book some time before, but right now I don't remember much stuff. So should I re-read it.

Actually I am in a kind of hurry to get this certification, setting one month goal for finishing preparation.

Assuming you are talking about the newer version of the test, I would recommend you to start with HFSJ and then go through the specs for the objectives that are not covered in the book.

Yes I am talking about the new "1Z0-894 Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 6 JavaServer Pages and Servlet Developer Certified Expert Exam".

some more questions:

1. Is there any link where I can get detailed list of exam topics? The one in Oracle website doesn't have much info.

2. About custom tags: HFSJ book has two big chapters (chapter 9 & 10) on custom tags. But I think custom tags now constitute a very small portion of exam (am I right?). Which topics related to custom tags I should read and which I should skip from the HFSJ book?

3. Topics Added in new exam: From one of the old posts in this forum, topics added are- Annotations, Asynchronous - Ajax, Web Fragments, Resource Injection - How to use JDBC/JPA - Where does JPA fit, Role of JAAS. Is there something missing in this list?
