Hallo,

The August 27th is near and I'm a little in confusion about what to do...
My assignment is not so complete, but I'd like to upload it, do the 3 part, and, if I fail, have the chance to resubmit it.
Doing so, I can know if I have made big mistakes in comprehension of the domain model, etc...
BUT... may I be sure that if I complete before the 27th, I'll have the resubmit chance? Now, the times for grading seems longer...
And, it seems from other posts that sometimes the time between the upload of part 2 and the availability to register for part 3 is not so immediate...

Hmmm.... I don't want to post a not accurate project and have not the possibility to improve it in the next month...

Any suggestion?

Thanks,

Stefano

Per Oracle, the point of the August 30th is so people have a change to resubmit once before the October 1st course pre-req starts. They don't say how long you'll have to resubmit - it could be one day.

I think you should do the best you can in the next few days and submit. Even if it means taking off a day from work and focusing on the assignment It's going to cost a lot more to do this later.

Thanks Jeanne,

this is the extract from oracle:

"Keep in mind that completion of your essay will depend on test center availability. In order to ensure that you have at least one week to resubmit if you fail, you should submit your assignment and complete your essay by August 27, 2011. Any assignments and essays submitted after August 27 cannot be guaranteed to receive a grade in time to resubmit before the September 30 deadline."

So, it seems that they "guarantee" 1 week if I'll submit and take part 3 before the 27th... But even if it is only a day, it is ok. My fear is that they'll grade my assignment "insufficient" (after the 1th october due to excessive number of assignments to grade), change their mind about resubmission, and I have no way to resubmit a more detailed project that I'll do during September...

So Oracle are saying they will grade assignments in 4 weeks now? Strange considering they took 10 weeks to grade mine...

Hi,

To me that is only a guide line.In my opinion, you should concentrate on the assignment at the best rather than worried about the date. do your best and submit.

Never think that, It is something like, you can submit version 1 now and Oracle will evaluate and say 'correct this part' then you are done.

Oracle changed the grading policy after I submit my assignment, they introduced part minimums, what can we do ?

Bottom line is complete the assignment with the mind set of want to will at the first go. If you can wrap things up by August 27th, that is great but even if you are not you are not loosing anything if you win at first go.

I'm in same situation now.

I'm not sure they would give us second chance to resubmit assignment if failed.
but I will still follows what they said, submit my assignemnt and finish eassay before August 27th.

It's a really rush time....I have already skipped my work for couple days to finish my assignment.

I will submit my assignment tomorrow and take essay as soon as posible.

I think you are totally right Mr. Myers... And, with grading times between 8 to 11 weeks, I see no chance to resubmit if an assigment was originally sended for grading after mid-July...

Vignesh Murali Natarajan wrote:A bigger concern for you is probably the upcoming training requirement for your Java Master certification. We can assure you that should you receive a failing grade on your assignment, we will allow you time to resubmit and become certified should you pass, without completing the training requirement even if you receive your grade after the September 30 deadline. The exceptions outlined below will be allowed.

Candidate submits Assignment and Essay (and has completed any other required exams) by August 27, 2011 and receives a passing grade after September 30, 2011
This candidate will receive the certification without completing the training requirement

Candidate submits Assignment and Essay (and has completed any other required exams) by August 27, 2011 and receives a failing grade after September 30, 2011
This candidate will be given the opportunity to resubmit the assignment and essay within a prescribed time period. Should the candidate pass on the second attempt, he will receive the certification without completing the training requirement. Should he fail on the 2nd attempt, training will be required for certification based on subsequent attempts.

Thanks,
Oracle Certification Team
