that shouldn't be a big deal. no need for any conversions or so.
- store you foreign texts in a resource bundle (google for java internationalization, if you are not familar with this concept) - as you correctly pointed out, java itself holds it data in unicode, which is able to foreign language charsets - your webapp will probably need to deliver utf8 (which can be set as http response type, as far as i know)
