Starting from scratch- use tiles,hibernate?

I may be starting a new web app from scratch, and was wondering if Tiles are still being used as new technology, or if something else has taken its place. I have been working on an older struts app, and just want to incorporate some new things into this new struts application so I can learn something new and so the app can be up to date.
Any recomendations of things to use with struts? So far I am considering Tiles and Hibernate.
Advice welcome!

Even though tiles was developed a while ago, it's still very widely used. I don't think you'll go to far wrong by using it.

Just to make sure, though, I's suggest looking around a little. There's a very cool new framework called Stripes that you might want to check out. Also, if you decide to use JavaServer faces, it's till possible to use Tiles in conjunction with JSF as well.

Just read about stripes, very interesting, thanks for the tip.
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
