Anyone Farmiliar with JavaTV?

Hello All,

Ive been trying to do some research on JavaTV and its capabilities. I've got an idea where I want to display and onscreen message to the TV for use in medical systems. For example, if a patient is bed ridden and needs to be reminded that its time to take some meds I want to display a message to the screen letting them know its time.

Is it possible to do this with JavaTV and standard cable boxes? Or would I need to roll my own cable box or maybe even use some middleware hardware to make this work?

Thanks in advance for the help.
