I cleared Part 1 today with 82%.
I took me 6 weeks to study for this.
I am confused whether I should attempt for part 2 and part 3 before the Sept 30 deadline.
I do not have any architectural exp. However I do understand design pattern and have worked on Servlet/JSP, Webservies, JMS, Spring. I have not worked on JSF, JPA and session beans. Nor I have I worked on Securty API like JAAS, JSSE etc.
Regarding UML I have only drawn seq diagram, class diagram and that too to a limited extend

Also what preparation is needed for part in terms of reading.
What is the exact syllabus in terms of score for clearing part 2 and part 3.

It typically takes more time for part 2 than part 1. Given your background, I think it is too late unless you can spend a ton of time on it every week. You could still try and see how close you get though.

I've got such email from Oracle yesterday:

This email is to inform you that there has been a delay in grading assignments and essays. At this time, you may have been awaiting your results for more than four weeks. Please know that we are working diligently with the grading team to clear the backlog as quickly as possible. A bigger concern for you is probably the upcoming training requirement for your Java Master certification. We can assure you that should you receive a failing grade on your assignment, we will allow you time to resubmit and become certified should you pass, without completing the training requirement even if you receive your grade after the September 30 deadline. The exceptions outlined below will be allowed.

Candidate submits Assignment and Essay (and has completed any other required exams) by August 27, 2011 and receives a passing grade after September 30, 2011
This candidate will receive the certification without completing the training requirement

Candidate submits Assignment and Essay (and has completed any other required exams) by August 27, 2011 and receives a failing grade after September 30, 2011
This candidate will be given the opportunity to resubmit the assignment and essay within a prescribed time period. Should the candidate pass on the second attempt, he will receive the certification without completing the training requirement. Should he fail on the 2nd attempt, training will be required for certification based on subsequent attempts.

Hi Jeanne,
Thanks for your reply.
For part 1 I had spent 12 fulldays(all weekends)
For part 2 and 3 I can give 16 fulldays(5 weekends plus 2 hoilday in between and 4 at the end) plus 2 hours each day(sums to 3 extra days).

Also what material should be reffered for part 2 other than Mark Caid

I would suggest to give a try and complete it by paying $300 instead of paying $3000 (prerequisite course) later.
By the what did you decide?

Thanks,

I think there is no time line for taking part2,but you must appear before the exam get outdated.
Once you register for part2,then in 6 months you need to submit it.
