Index Concept of Data base

This is not related to any java topics.. But i need to know in detail about indices.

I read about clustured and Non clustured index on many websites but i did'nt get an exact idea of them.

In clustured index the physical ordering of the data is sorted and in non-clustred logical ordering is sorted, what it exactly means?

I appreciate if any one can explain this in detail with example.
