A student using Safari on MacOS 10.6 is reporting that he sees the error above when he loads a page with an applet, and the page does not display properly. (Some buttons are missing.) The applet to which the setMol() statement refers loads and works just fine. The relevant code is:

When I go to the same page with Safari 5.0.6 on Mac OS 10.5.8, I do not see the error, and the page loads just fine.

Why would different OSs give different behavior with regard to the setMol() function?
