I wonder why did you put basic Java question in EJB certification forum... Neverthless I assume that some good bartender will move the topic to the right section and meanwhile:

Did you analyze the code and ask yourself what might be the problem?
Hint: how does your code is supposed to know that you want to print first, second, third, ... letter of the given word?
